S.I.B.L - Sylmar 13U All-Stars Baseball team

This past weekend, our 13U All-Star baseball team from Sylmar Independent Baseball League (SIBL), made history by advancing to the Pony International World Series in Modesto CA. SIBL has never had a team in any division make it this far. Competition at the Pony International World Series is statewide and international and will be fierce.

The journey to the World Series for our 13u All Stars began on June 22 in Bakersfield CA, where they won the Section Championship Title. From there, they went on to Regionals in Camarillo, CA, where they played in the championship game and performed well enough to get to bypass Super Regionals and advanced directly to the West Zone Championships held in West Hills, CA. Once again our boys played well and made the championship game. They earned the right to advance to the Pony International World Series. They have played a total of 19 games and have an impressive record of 17 wins and only 2 losses.

Our SIBL 13U All-Stars have worked tremendously hard through the years and especially this summer. The parents have volunteered their time and the boys have put their heart, sweat, and tears into their games and practices. They deserve to complete their journey and play in the International World Series. They have made a name for themselves and our community here in Sylmar due to the high level of competition with many teams in the surrounding area. They have spiked the interest and curiosity of people wondering who and where this Sylmar team is coming from. This SIBL 13U All-Star team is proud to represent Sylmar. The team is made up of families and their children with skill and heart for the game which allowed them to advance and undermine struggles of limited resources and challenges that come with the area. While winning these tournaments and playing in different cities has been a great experience, this has also been a big financial burden to many of our families that live in this community. This big accomplishment comes with sacrifice for many of these kids who want to represent at this coming weekend's World Series games. We humbly ask for your help so we can send these kids and families to represent our local community at the PONY International World Series.
