Hey friends, fam, peers, and allies,
Sian here, all the way from Melbourne, Australia.
Y’all know me! I’m not the biggest sharer or one to ask for much, but there comes a point in life where you need to surrender yourself to the cause and ask for help.
For the longest time, I have been battling with body dysphoria and as a trans woman/faafafine, the idea of surgery has been this pipe dream. For me, (believe it or not) as a somewhat private person, I have wrestled with the idea of being this open, vulnerable, and public with something so personal and intimate. However, the current climate and global conversation around care also needs to encompass care and support for those that are forced to live, engage, and face scrutiny due to a colonial cisgender and binary-lens. This fund and these surgical procedures is survival for me.
I’ve worked hard to save in the past but there’s always been something that has come up where I’ve had to relinquish funds to those around me (usually family and community) that have required it more, or have required my time, energy, resources, and tools to the point where there's nothing left for me. But this cycle can’t continue if I want to do something for me that is ultimately life saving.
That is why I’ve created this account and why I require support & assistance in making my dream come true and helping me be the woman I want to see when I look back in the mirror - not just the one I envision in my head.
All monies raised will be going towards necessary life changing surgery, consultations, and after-care/post care. Any monies over will be going towards necessary continuous care cost inc. but not limited to therapy, remedial massage therapy, physiotherapy, continued maintenance, and any unforeseen expenses.
