Let me set the scene …
You’ve just received the news we all pray we never hear, you were right, yes, that lump is something sinister and yes, you do need to be worried.
You’d think that coping with hearing the word cancer would be the hardest part wouldn’t you? Alongside the hair loss, the anxiety, the questions over future fertility, the physical changes and the bloody chemo brain…
the last thing you expect to find yourself worrying about is how your going to pay your rent and make sure there’s food in the fridge.
I’m bloody gutted and quite frankly outraged that one of my beautiful friends is going through this right now.
Due to a change of employer just before her diagnosis, Sian has only been eligible for statutory sickness pay, so as well as fighting this encompassing disease, she’s also got the added stress of how she’s going to pay her bills.
She is fortunate to have an amazing family who are helping her but she’s also got some amazing friends and I’m convinced amongst us all we will be able to help her through this difficult period.
Being the strong, independent absolute boss of a women we all know and love, loosing her financial independence is killing her (no pun intended folks). I hope we can show our love for her with a small donation (perhaps the cost of that cocktail we can’t take her for at the moment).
Whether you know Sian personally or you’re reading this through one of your connections, I hope you’ll take the time to help … cancer can affect anyone of us at any time and I know this women would be doing exactly the same thing for me.
❤️
