Help Winnie Walk Again

This is Winston, he’s a 4 year old golden retriever. Really though, he is the light of so many in our family’s lives. He is his mom’s and dad’s best boy, he is his little brother’s best friend, he is loved by grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course countless friends. Winston loves to camp, play with his dog cousins, have sleepovers, and being wherever his family is. Winnie has led a life with health problems since he was born, but overall has managed to stay healthy with regular visits and treatments on occasion. On 4/25 he started limping and appeared to have lost function of his back right leg. After a trip to the ER we learned that his bloodwork came back clean, his reflexes are still there with slight function but he needs a neuro consult including an MRI to rule out cancer/blood clots/serious conditions. As advised by the vet they went home, watched him closely to hang tight while waiting for a neurologist to become available on Monday. He later lost control in his left rear too, but again they were told to see a specialist on Monday. 4/26 he went back to the ER because he lost control of his bowels and began shaking uncontrollably. With nothing to do except wait for Monday to see the first available neurologist the ER is keeping Winnie overnight to keep an eye on him and ensure he remains stable. There are thoughts of a potential back injury because his bladder is full and a common symptom of back injury is loss of bladder/bowel function and usage. We still work know more until he can get an MRI. I’m here to ask for help on behalf of Winston and his family, it goes without saying that this is already off to a very expensive start and we are planning on it being astronomical. We would do anything for our boy and want to be able to ensure him a long and healthy future which unfortunately comes with a price tag. Please consider helping our sweet, silly, happy-go-lucky, straight-out-of-a-Disney movie, BESTEST boy, he is loved so deeply by so many and deserves a fighting chance against whatever comes his way.
