My name is Anne (Powell) Arias and while many of you know my biological sister, I am organizing this fundraiser for the Little Sister I got to know through Big Brothers Big Sisters when she was a teen in 2009. Shylo is a smart, social-justice oriented woman with disabilities who has had a challenging life as a child and now as an adult.

After experiencing homelessness a few years ago, Shylo has been making efforts to become independent and imagine a better life for herself. Unfortunately, she recently ran out of rent assistance and is facing eviction. She is hoping to raise enough money to pay the rent she owes and have a smooth transition from her current place to a more affordable apartment, with the help of her case manager.

Receiving community support would provide a big boost of encouragement and motivation, knowing she isn't alone as she figures out what kind of independent life is possible for her.
