URGENT: Please Help Shyla Save Her Home
Hi everyone,
I normally wouldn’t ask for something like this, but I’m in a really difficult spot. A friend of mine, Leticia, created this GoFundMe on my behalf to help me save my home. She set it up for me, and I’ve been updating it as things change.
Over the past year and a half, I’ve been very sick with gastroparesis, chronic pain, and other conditions that have left me unable to work. I’m in the process of waiting for a decision for disability, my hearing was at the end October. I'm confident I'll get disability, but there are still no guarantees.
The good news is: my loan modification was approved! That means the mortgage company absorbed the past-due amount and lowered my monthly payment. It’s a huge relief and gives us a bit more breathing room. I’ve adjusted the GoFundMe goal to reflect what’s needed to cover the payments through February while I wait for a decision.
This home means everything to me. I live here with my mom and aunt, who are both infirm and rely on me. We’ve been here since 2006, after escaping a dangerous rental and many years of instability. It’s our Sweet Haven — and we have nowhere else to go.
I’ve tried everything — loans, grants, local assistance — but nothing has come through. This GoFundMe is still our lifeline.
If you’re able to donate or even just share the link (you can share directly from this page), it would mean the world to me. Every bit helps keep us afloat during this incredibly uncertain time.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and caring.
