Hey, my name is Katherine and I am 20. I was raped at 14 years old. The ordeal was quite traumatic and has left my genitalia disfigured, which has led to to many insecurities during my adolescence. My goal is to raise enough money for a labiaplasty to fix my vagina and make it look how it is supposed to. I work (and have done since 15) and am in university to become a healthcare professional to help others in similar scenarios to myself, which is why I can’t fund this surgery myself. I am sure that in years to come when I have a steady career I would be able to finance this on my own, however I feel as if I am already currently at the age where I should be looking to find a boyfriend, instead of fearing what he may say when it comes to intimacy. I plan to match however much is donated when I have a secure income and donate it to various charities such as teenage cancer, breast cancer, and rape survivor trusts. I have reported this to the police 2 years after it occurred when I was 16, but chose not to follow it up unless another girl came forwards who was victimised by the same man because I was scared of any potential repercussions. I don’t really know what I can post as proof, I still have the jumper and belt I was wearing, but that won’t mean anything to strangers. I have been quoted near to £6000 for my labiaplasty by Manchester Private Hospital, and further for laser and bleaching where it has caused me to be discoloured. I understand that this is a long shot, but I am out of options. I had some savings that I planned to use but had to spend on a car when mine broke in order to travel to and from work.
