Shuri's second surgery
Hi, I am Jaclyn and I rescue cats, they have a home and garden that we have fully netted to prevent harm coming to them or wildlife. Shuri just turned 1 years old, she came from a rescue with her sister Nakia, (who was rejected by other persons) since she has a strabismus in her left eye. (Nakia is also long haired compared to her tiny sister). Shri has an incontinence problem slight drips escape, which being a mad cat lady I don't care about. When she went in to be neutered our very experienced vet could not locate her second ovary. So given her issue of incontinence we put it down to a slightly different anatomical anomaly. So when she came into season 3 months later, we knew it had clearly concealed itself. Shuri, after consultation was booked in to have a more intrusive surgery to retrieve the second ovary and complete the neutering. This called for a surgeon of different skills, a mid-line incision and exploration as maybe said elusive ovary was still hiding. It wasn't our surgeon did her thing and found and removed it easily. Now for the issue that she discovered, Shuri's left kidney is tiny and non-functional, but the Ureta tubes attached to it (possibly the cause of the incontinence) were massively bloated. Our surgeon took and image and sent it across to a specialist (we have seen this image and it is scary). The risk is that those tubes burst and cause an emergency, so after a long discussion with our surgeon we decided to get ahead of it.
On 22nd May 2023, Shuri will go in for the second invasive surgery. We were not charged for the second neuter, which I was extremely glad of. But this is a major operation to remove the kidney and the Ureta tubes attached to it. Is nearly £2000.00 so, if you are able in these wretched times, to help out our little girl - Shuri, we would be most grateful.
Shuri's scar (they will need to go in that line again) and below her sister Nakia.
Thank you for your time. Best wishes from my 14 rescue cats.
