Dear friends of Shulamit & Stanley,
I am devastated to learn that Shulamit's home was burned to the ground in the Oregon fires. Her Steinways, music, research library and family heirlooms are gone.
I am indebted to Shulamit for attempting to teach me to play the piano in Idaho Falls 30 years ago. I didn't stick with piano, but she instilled my love for classical music and my career as a soprano, university voice professor and opera director is the result of her teaching me to sing first with my fingers. Playing on her Steinways under her tutelage was an immeasurable gift.
She has taught so many musicians around the world and conducted master works with divine mastery and her beautiful heart. ♥ There are countless among us who enjoy music more because of Shulamit's influence.
The only way I can imagine showing her support is to form a fundraiser that will allow the multitudes to offer donations that will be given to her directly and can go towards her next Steinway and rebuilding her library.
If Shulamit Hoffmann and her dear husband Stanley have made a difference in your life, I hope you can take this opportunity to support them in this distressing time.
Your friend in song,
Christi Petty Amonson
