Jack Delk is in need of our help as he battles brain cancer for the second time during a world wide pandemic. Anyone that has ever met Jack knows that he would be the first to give you his shirt off his back. He is ALWAYS the first to offer help and support. Many of us have been blessed to have Jack in our lives. I know that I have personally been on the receiving end of Jack’s huge heart, extending extreme kindness when I have needed it the most.
Jack was first diagnosed with a brain tumor 21 years ago. A diagnosis of this kind back then came with an extremely poor prognosis. Jack put up a fight and found the strength to prove the doctors wrong. He beat the odds.
11 years ago, while vacationing with his wife Nicki n Wisconsin, both Jack and Nicki were in a life changing motorcycle accident. A wayward motorist, literally, ran over them leaving tire marks across their backs. Again, despite many, many injuries that changed their lives, Jack (and Nicki) beat the odds.
Almost right on time, 10 years later, Covid struck and due to restrictions, has forced Jack’s personal training business to shut down for few months. He was only able to re open his business in December.
Jack could probably rebound as he previously has except that in the beginning of March, Jack was rushed to Edwards Hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of a stroke. It was then that he and Nicki found out that his tumor has returned. Jack was taken into surgery, however, the tumor could not be fully removed. Jack is determined to once again beat the odds but he is going to need our help.
It is unknown when Jack will be able to return to work. The medical bills are already building forcing them to make tough decisions. It is likely that Jack will need special accommodations made to their home.
This is a tough time for many of us financially. Whatever you can give will be appreciated. This fundraiser wouldn’t be taking place if it wasn’t desperately needed.
