Hello everyone, my name is Timothy Andre. I will be having open-heart surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC on April 6th, 2022. I have been diagnosed with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis and an ascending aortic aneurysm. I chose the more technical procedure because I felt this would potentially give me the best quality of life after surgery. Due to the complexity of the "Ross Procedure," I am traveling for this surgery. Unfortunately, few qualified cardiac surgeons are experienced enough to perform a successful "Ross" surgery with the best possible outcome and average life expectancy.

Unfortunately, my insurance will not be paying for the entire bill. Also, there are many unforeseen costs, such as traveling, lodging and cardiac rehabilitation, to name a few. Any help would be very much appreciated. The stress and anxiety are enough without worrying about a massive medical bill and extra costs.

This journey began on 2/6/22 after admitting myself to the ER. Since that day, I have been to the ER twice, multiple doctor's visits, four blood lab tests, a chest x-ray, two CT scans, an echocardiogram, a transesophageal echocardiogram, a heart catheterization surgery and a dental clearance for the big day. All of this in just seven weeks.

However, the good news is that I will have the best possible surgeon performing my surgery, Dr. Paul Stelzer. He will be doing a double valve replacement and repairing an ascending aortic aneurysm. So, I am at peace knowing I will be in good hands. The recovery will be 6-12 months.

Many people have asked how they can help. So, of course, I am asking people to pray for me now and on the day of my surgery.
