Support Rose's Dream: Dance at CSSSA

My name is Rose, and I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I’m honored to have been accepted into the prestigious dance program at California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) for this summer, something I’ve dreamed about for years! The program is a rigorous, pre-professional, month-long training program for talented artists of high school age, and it provides a supportive environment in which students hone acquired skills and explore new techniques and ideas for an intense and exciting learning experience. Experiences like CSSSA are once in a lifetime, and while the education I receive in the program will get me that much closer to my dance career goals, it is costly. I would be eternally grateful for any donation amount you’d be willing to give – every dollar lessens the financial burden of attending CSSSA, and supports me in being set up for success when I go to college to study dance and law in 2026.

In addition to being a full time student with a part time job, I dance 15 hours a week. Some of my dance career highlights so far include receiving an Award for Performing Arts from the Mayor of Berkeley, choreographing for musicals and school dance performances as a dance captain, and being a proud member of Shawl Anderson Dance Center’s pre-professional youth company. I am proud of how my artistry, expert technique, emotional expression, and choreography skills have taken flight – across ballet, modern, and contemporary, and the many other genres of dance I love! I wouldn’t be where I am today without the amazing dance training and mentorship I’ve received to hone my talent.
