Showcase Sierra Leonean art at Africa's biggest art event
Donation protected
In November, the 15th Biennale of Arts in Dakar will take place with the theme "The Awakening". It is Africa's largest fine arts event and the world's third largest art event. Last time, 480,000 visitors came from around the world to see and enjoy some of the best art from the African continent and African diasporas.
Together with a talented Sierra Leonean content creator, Yasmin Metz-Johnson, and the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Dakar, we are organising an exhibition to showcase Sierra Leone's best talents and give them a platform to interact with the international art world. Names such as Hawa-Jane Bangura, Francis Sesay, Aishatu Jalloh, Morrison Jusu, Sama Kai, Hickmatu Leigh, Ngadi Smart and Abdul Hamid Kanu or similar (all to be confirmed) will have a chance to contribute to the Senegalese Biennale.
Culture and arts are a crucial part of any country, and important drivers of progress, as well as helping shape the identity and story of a place. Sierra Leone still has many stories to tell, with unusual perspectives.
For this, I'd like to ask you if you can help sponsor the exhibition - we need money to transport the paintings, equip the exhibition room with the necessary furniture and lighting, pay the travel costs of artists and organise communications materials. Anything you can give helps Salone continue to tell the story of young talents inspiring the world.
Thanks for giving back and giving forward to Salone! In case you prefer a different way of paying, we also take bank transfers (UK, Switzerland, Senegal, Sierra Leone), PayPal (contact Noemi for details), Twint (ask Noemi for her number), Orange Money, Wave, etc. Whatever works best for you!
The Top 6 sponsors will get an art piece from the exhibition!
