In the middle of conversation at a recent party with friends, Tina's face went completely blank. Knowing something was very wrong, everyone encircled her and caught her as she fell to the ground. Tina was immediately rushed to the hospital, where it was determined that she had suffered a devastating stroke. We were all shocked to hear this, knowing that Tina is a young, energetic, kickboxing addict!
Tina was left with a very weak right side and great difficulty communicating with others. While Tina appears to understand what people are saying, her word retrieval ability has been severely impacted and speaking or responding to others is now incredibly difficult.
To regain her mobility, speech, and communication skills, Tina needs 3-4 hours of speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy numerous times a week. She is back at home in her apartment with major help from her mom (Linda), dad (Chris), stepmom (Carol), and her siblings, but is not able to return to work for an undetermined amount of time. As she is not earning a paycheck, rent, bills, medicals costs, etc. are piling up.
We ask for your empathy and prayers to help Tina persevere through this setback. We also ask that you please consider a compassionate donation to support Tina financially until she can return to work.
