Show Your Love for Dean Adams and his Beloved "The Bentley"

If you have lived in Gainesville, Ga for any amount of time, then you know Dean Adams. If you think you don’t know Dean Adams, someone you know, does know Dean. Not only do you and your person know him, but he has probably helped one or both of you in some significant way. Dean has selflessly planted himself in our lives and his roots have grown to be part of our hearts, giving them the strongest of foundations. I am grateful, to say the least, that Dean is my friend. I am one who has been on the receiving end of his support and compassion, so many times that I’ve lost count. For many of us, he shows up before we even know that we need help! I remind our community and family of friends that when we needed help, Dean was always there for us.

Impossible as it may sound, our super human friend is indeed human, and it is Dean’s turn to need help, our help.

8 years ago, Dean brought a tiny dog, “The Bentley,” into his home. We have watched their love affair grow before our eyes as The Bentley grew into a beautiful gentle giant. He is Dean’s love and Dean is his love. In recent weeks, The Bently has required significant medical attention that has weighed heavily on Dean’s heart. The veterinary hospital bills have also put a tremendous financial strain on Dean, so much in fact that he has postponed his own medical procedures. So many of us would do the same for our children. Our pets are a gift of joy that exists everyday literally just to make us joyful. The unconditional love that they offer us can brighten even the darkest times because they give us their light so selflessly.

Dean would never ask for help, so we are doing it for him. Keeping Dean strong is the best way to keep ourselves strong. Steve Carter and I (Tina Roberts) have organized a gofundme campaign to help with The Bentley’s mounting medical bills. Sadly, there will be more in the coming weeks.

It is Valentine’s Day, a day to remind someone you love that they are loved, and that Goodness and Compassion enrich our lives. Be the Goodness and Compassion. Please join Steve, me, and so many others in donating to Dean and The Bentley and the joy that they bring to our lives.
