Help a Hardworking Couple in Recovery Get Back on Their Feet

Prior to my dad’s cancer diagnosis, I rented a place in Lewisburg, Ohio, where I met a couple who have since become close friends. They’re recovering addicts with two to three years clean and moved from Georgia to Ohio to start fresh, far from the environment that contributed to their struggles with addiction. They’ve been doing everything they can to rebuild their lives.

However, recently, their car broke down, and the repairs will cost over $500. On top of that, they’ve fallen behind on their car payments. She had been using the car to DoorDash between shifts at a local restaurant, but without reliable transportation, they’ve lost that extra income, making an already tough situation even harder.

We’ve talked about how things almost seemed easier when they were using, and I know they’re feeling discouraged. But I’m trying to remind them that even though it’s hard right now, things will get better. I’m hoping this GoFundMe can help alleviate some of their immediate burdens, cover the car repair costs, and catch up on a couple of car payments to help them get back on track.
