Hi, my name is Taylor Hanus and I am starting a go fund me for my sister Haley Hanus. Haley is a well-known and loved by many, 26 year old nurse at Iowa Specialty Hospital. On Saturday, July 27th of 2024 at around 6:40 pm, Haley and her boyfriend were in a devastating car accident. While Haley’s boyfriend was driving her to work, they struck a moving train. Haley and her boyfriend were life flighted from Webster City to Des Moines. Haley has been fighting extremely hard for her life with at least 5 blood transfusions so far. Haley has had 6 surgeries so far and plans for her 7th surgery on Thursday, August 1st. Haley is currently on a ventilator but can open her eyes and nod her head yes and shake it for no. This tragedy has flipped our families world upside down. Haley recently bought a house and accepted a new position at her current place of employment. Haley is also a kitty mom and has had big plans to meet her nephew for the first time in mid August, while she has also been renovating her home and is in the middle of doing so. Haley has an extremely long road to recovery and any support is very much appreciated as her whole life is completely altered. Haley’s boyfriend is still in the ICU as well fighting for his life currently. Anything we can raise to put towards bills is truly a blessing
