My friend was viciously attacked July 14 while walking back to her car at VGH after picking up an extra shift where she works as a nurse. She was stabbed and slashed several times in the upper body and she will be recovering from her surgery for a while. Due to the nature of the incident and the fact the perpetrator is still at large, I cannot give more details, such as their name, injuries, or surgery. As mentioned in the news, it was just after shift change in the parkade--where many of us have walked a similar route just to get home.

This may be a workplace violence news story but to me it is just a personal one. I'm going to support my friends in every and any way possible to help them get through this terrible trauma but in the meantime I'd like to ask for crowd support to show she is not alone like she was on Monday.

Funds will go to paying family expenses while she is unable to work and any extra funds will be donated to the VGH Foundation.
