Friends, Family, Ferndale Classmates, and Kind Strangers,
I'm reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your help in supporting Susan Bazant’s Memory Care needs as we face the overwhelming financial burden that comes with dementia care. Watching my mom’s health decline has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but ensuring she gets the specialized care she needs has been even more challenging.
As you may know, memory care costs have been rising at an alarming rate. Unfortunately, with the 11% rent increase this year, the expenses of her current facility now exceed what we can afford, and we are forced to find a more affordable option.
Each day, Susan requires 24-hour professional care that provides her with a safe, nurturing environment where she can be supported with dignity. After touring a dozen facilities in the Southern California area, I have found one where she can continue to receive the humane, quality care she deserves.
We have successfully raised the funds to cover the one-time community fee of $3,500 that secures her room at this new facility. But the journey doesn’t end here. Each month we need to pay $6,500 for her cost of care so any additional funds raise will be directly applied toward Susan’s ongoing care.
We are reaching out to ask for your generosity, whether it’s through a donation, a share of this campaign, or simply keeping us in your thoughts. Every bit of support will directly contribute to ensuring Susan continues to receive the compassionate care she deserves.
