COVID-19 impact on Cadence Riding Academy - our lesson horses need your help!
As everyone knows, the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a mandate to temporarily close businesses across America. The Cadence Riding Academy is one of those businesses and is facing a tremendous and devastating financial hurtle due to this crisis.
Lesson programs such as Cadence are the lifeblood of the equine industry and provide the foundation of learning for our sport. The most important part of these programs, are the priceless lesson horses & ponies that make them possible. These wonderful horses have the biggest hearts, and are the kindest, gentlest and most patient animals that deserve our love & appreciation.
Many people do not realize the staggering costs to operate a lesson program. These programs “employ” living animals that require an enormous amount of resources to provide all of their needs including, labor, shelter, feed, forage, supplements, as well as regular farrier and veterinary care.
As our program is shut down these next few weeks we are faced with caring for our 25+ lesson horses with no income to cover these huge costs. The average horse costs approximately $400-500 per month to care for; and that does not include any extra veterinarian expenses that can arise.
If you would like to help our horses, please consider a donation - no matter how big or small. All funds will be used solely for the care and sustenance of our wonderful lesson horses. Anyone who donates $50 or greater, will receive a special mention on the Cadence Facebook page. Thank you so much for your kindness!
