Show Sheryl Some Love

Our beloved Sheryl Schroeder has been hit with several set backs this year culminating in her car getting totaled this week. Her passion project, Mullaney’s bar,  after so many years of literal blood sweat and tears came to an end before she could open, the last of her immediate family, her brother Dale, passed away soon after, followed by her car being  rear ended by a drunk driver thus taking away her mobile freedom to try to make that triumphant comeback story we wanted in her life. 

Sheryl has been a part of the local art & music scene in Santa Barbara as well as a Big Cat activist. Her contributions to the scene are immeasurable, not to mention her absolute positive attitude and radiant personality.

She is a local personality at The Palace Restaurant where you can see her art painted in the window front and center, and decorating the desert plates she adorns in chocolate.  She is as much a part of the Palace as the Palace is a part of her. 

I met Sheryl through friends when I needed to share an apartment, we lived together in a bungalow and only moved out to move in with my future wife and daughter in the same bungalow community.  When my wife Ingrid and I needed a venue for our wedding and reception we asked Sheryl to use her unopened bar that she was building with her dear friend Trevor, who owned the Ducati store next door. It was the kindest gesture any friend could make, it was the best party in the best location with the best people. 


 Her insurance company will only cover blue book value on the totaled car which isn’t quite enough to cover the cost of a decent car. Her totaled car also bears the memory of her brother who helped her pick it out when she first bought it, so there’s the extra added bit that just sucks.  She was very connected to that car.
