Show Love to Walmart Phil: Donate Today
Donation protected
Every day, my friend, Tyrone Phillips, known as "Walmart Phil", sits outside the Savoy Walmart, relying on the kindness of our community to cover his rent, utilities, and groceries. Since losing his wife in 2020, Phil has faced countless obstacles---injuring his back, losing his business, being unable to work, and experiencing daily harassment (people telling him to "get a job" and someone leaving human feces where he sits).
Despite all his hardships, Phil remains humble and grateful. He has a heart full of love for God and can even make an amazing Cardinal bird call!
After a recent hospitalization, Phil was unable to pay his rent and he needs our help! My family is committed to helping him take care of the back-rent so he won't lose his apartment, and we invite you to join us.
1. Please consider donating to his GoFundMe campaign. Every cent will go directly to the Champaign County Housing Authority.
2. Pray for him.
3. Stop by and ask him what he needs and call him by name. Buy him lunch, bring him water or something to help him stay cool, listen to him.
Let’s show Phil that he is seen, valued, and loved! Thank you!
