Hi, my name is Stephen. I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend, Arthur Thomas. I've known Arthur (Artie) for 29 years, since he became my roommate. Artie’s love for God and his passion for helping people, especially the youth, was evidenced by his complete surrender to serve God by caring for orphans and the disadvantaged. He was profoundly impacted by the loving couple that adopted him and his brother at a very young age. This would go on to shape Artie into the man of God he became. He continued his love, caring, and servant's heart as he became a full-time minister to dozens of children at Mooseheart. Then, as tragedy struck, he became a full-time caregiver to his beautiful wife, Charma, all while dealing with his own health issues. Artie is a fighter, and while caring for his wife, he battled and BEAT cancer! Unfortunately, during his time at Ford Motor Company, he was forced to take a medical leave, and instead of receiving the health/short/long-term disability benefits that he's paid into for a decade, due to corporate, union, and political greed and dereliction, he was NEVER PAID A DOLLAR, resulting in a massive ripple of financial hardships, near homelessness, hunger, and discouragement. Yet, he remained focused on his wife's health and her needs. Now this...

I am asking, if there is anyone, with any means, if you have been touched and affected by Artie and Charma's lives, would you PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING YOUR HEART AND YOUR WALLET. As you know, end-of-life expenses, the impact, the transitioning that will need to take place, as well as being in light of Ford Motor Company's abandonment of Artie, and now, as he is in the rehabilitation facility for his emergency surgery, all of this is sooo overwhelming and devastating.

Please, give. Give what you can... Be generous, and show Artie the love that he has poured out to sooo many, for sooo long. Let's help Artie heal and get back on his feet.
