I’m asking our community to rally around someone many of you already know and love — Pam Lott of College Station.
Pam is facing cancer for the third time.
Her final day at Whataburger — where she’s built a loyal fan base over nearly 15 years — will be February 18. Just two days later, on February 20, she’ll undergo surgery in The Woodlands, as she’s now being treated out of town.
Back in November, Pam began experiencing back pain and went to the doctor. Initial tests didn’t reveal anything, but further evaluation and a biopsy confirmed the cancer had returned. It’s endometrial serous carcinoma — and it’s aggressive.
Pam’s first battle with cancer was discovered years ago during a routine mammogram. Nine years later, it returned, leading to a double mastectomy. She has been in remission for six years. Now, she’s preparing to fight again.
Through it all, she hasn’t lost her spirit.
She told me this week, “I don’t have words for what I’m going through, but I’m always going to keep my smile, Rusty.”
Right now, Pam is simply asking for her customers and friends to stop by, say hello, grab a meal, give her a hug, and say a prayer.
With time off work, out-of-town medical care, and mounting bills, friends reached out and asked if we could organize a fundraiser. Of course we can.
If you’re able, here’s how you can help:
• Stop by and show your support
• Say a prayer
• Donate through the GoFundMe
• Or send support via CashApp: $RustySurette3
• Venmo: @Rusty-Surette
Please put “PAM” in the notes.
This is what community looks like. Let’s show Pam she’s not fighting alone.
