Melisa loves and serves so many people! She works hard for her patients and their families (she is a pediatric wound care nurse practitioner). She also serves and loves her community, coworkers, friends and most especially her family. It's just who she is and what she loves to do - spend time with her people and keep busy by serving and loving and making memories.
When she found out she has breast cancer, an invasive lobular carcinoma, she began a long journey. Surgery, chemo, radiation, and a myriad of other drugs and multiple complications have been her past year. But she has also made these part of her journey this past year: faith and courage. She is choosing to fight and live and take things a day at a time. She keeps loving and laughing.
Cancer isn't cheap. After insurance and help from the hospitals, she's left with $9,000 of medical bills that take a large payment every month. She's had to miss several days of work at her new jobs - before her first surgery, she had just finished medical school and getting board certified as a nurse practitioner. She's also worked through many, many days of nausea and exhaustion. Not only because she needs the money and has limited paid time off, but because she deeply cares for her patients and highly prioritizes their care and needs.
Let's give Melisa some extra love and support and help ease this burden for her. Every dollar helps and sends her extra bits of love as she preps for another major surgery.
Melisa is loving. And we love Melisa! And this is a great way to show her. Thank you!
