Jorge Martinez is an employee of Rainforest Distribution who is currently working as a Brooklyn Area Sales Manager. He has been with the company over five years and is now dealing with a personal challenge in his life.

His father Jorge Martinez was diagnosed in January of 2023 with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) A rare, fatal, and progressive disease that destroys nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease or motor neuron disease.

Over the last 22 months the disease has progressed rapidly with him transitioning to a walker, a wheelchair and for the last several months he has been completely bedridden and lost all capability to speak.

Jorge's father is a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. He always made sure that their home was open to anyone in need from their family members to friends and even acquaintances.

Everyone knew they could always count on him for support in times of crisis.

One month ago Jorge's father began hospice care in their home.

As he approaches the end of his life , Jorge's family has been surrounded by their close ones and friends to show him love and support.
