Sparing the details; life happened, we were unable to get him into a program to help him, he fell behind in school for reasons beyond our control, and with a LOT of help from my mother (a special needs high school teacher), he graduated from high school with a REGULAR diploma.

We tried jobs, but the attention span and comprehension often got in the way.

It's been 21 years now. He's a sweet, charismatic albeit awkward young man with an amazing sense of humor.

With the way times are and the holidays fast approaching, I was hesitant to do this, but he spends most of his time secluded, and I just thought if we raised $50 with people donating just $1, it would somehow show him some kind of "love" and appreciation.

Maybe it's silly. Idk. But I want him to conquer his passions, and even if nothing comes of this, it tells him one thing: you never know until you try.
