Gabe’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On April 12, 2025 around 7:30pm, Gabe was in a side by side accident. He lost control, flipping the vehicle where it then dragged him and trapped him under the vehicle. Due to the quick responses by family and friends who were with him that night, Gabe was able to be freed from the side by side. They applied a tourniquet to his leg while they waited for emergency services to arrive because his tibia broke in four places and exited his leg. Once EMS arrived, he was life flighted to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Once at the hospital, it was discovered that not only did he have a broken tibia and severe road rash, but he also had several broken vertebrae in his neck. The next morning, Gabe was taken back for surgery to try to repair his leg. Unfortunately, the doctors discovered that he did not have enough skin at the sight of his injury to properly put it back together. This means that he needs plastic surgeons to be added to his team of doctors. Because of this, Gabe is currently waiting to be transferred to a level one trauma hospital in Gainesville, Fl before they’re able to move forward with his recovery. We do know that he will have to have a minimum of two more surgeries.
The road to recovery will be long. He will not be able to put any type of pressure on his leg for 3-6 months, as well as a year of physical therapy. Gabe is VERY lucky to be alive after this accident.
At this point, we are unsure of when he will be able to return to work. We’ve created this Go Fund Me as a way to help with the extra costs of travel, lodging, food, ect that all of this will bring. We sincerely appreciate any donation and/or sharing of this Go Fund Me that you’re able to provide.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
