Hello friends and family. My name is Glenda and I'm the mother to 2 amazing women! At this time, I'm wanting to share a story of my youngest daughter, Lora, and her 2 incredible teenage sons.
I'm hoping we can all come together to help a brave single mom (my precious daughter) facing cancer, loss of partial income (loss of 2nd full time job) and supporting her teenage sons all on her own.
My daughter is a loving single mother who has always worked hard to provide for her family and care for others. Right now, she is facing the hardest battle of her life.
She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer (a diagnosis she has been quiet about) and is fighting every day with courage and strength. At the same time, she recently lost one of her sources of income, creating financial strain, while maintaining focus on keeping a roof over her family’s heads and basic needs covered.
As if that wasn’t enough, her son is living with Type 1 diabetes, which requires constant monitoring, insulin, supplies, and ongoing medical care. He was also recently admitted to the hospital for DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition that comes on very quickly).
The stress of cancer treatments, hospital bills, medications, diabetes care, lost income, and daily living expenses has become overwhelming (which she will NEVER admit to) and causing her stress that she does not need at this time when her focus needs to be SOLELY on herself and staying as healthy as her body will allow.
We are asking for help to ease some of this burden so she can focus on healing and being there for herself and her sons. Lora is a person that has always supported everyone she can without ever asking for any help for herself.
Funds raised will go toward:
- Cancer treatments and hospital bills
- Medications and follow-up care
- Diabetes supplies and medical needs for her son
- Replacing lost income during this difficult time
Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean the world to her family. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and most importantly, keeping her in your prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.
