Show Dena and her child the meaning of kindness

I’m a mom in town. Like many of us, I run into Acme for that quick gallon of milk while rushing around. In my rushing, an employee named Dena would always make that Acme trip heartwarming. A smile, a kind gesture, a sticker for my kids. You probably have experienced the same.

I don’t know Dena personally, but I know that as moms we do what we can for our kids. She has an 8 year old. I read the following from her and it’s the holiday season. A small act of kindness can change someone’s world. It’s the season to show it.

Hi everyone so tonight at 2:30pm..I was terminated from Acme. I just want to say I have the best customers, family and friends. I wanna thank you all for all your support ,all your kind words.texts, calls.

I may not be there to see all your beautiful faces, but I don’t live far. I’m sure I will see you around. You’re all welcome to be my friend on Facebook. To all little kids that I’ve met ,it made me so happy to see everyone’s face every day. Miss Dena loves you all.

I understand that it wasn’t my coffee to decide to make it $.50. Acme does not  provide coffee or water for the employees ,or anything else.

Now I could say the real reason I wasn’t drinking the coffee ….was because I wasn’t able to take breaks. I was taking care of my customers I was on a timer to do orders ,We did not have enough staff working there so every time I went on a break ,I would have to come off of the brakes to continue to work. I would even have to work through my unpaid lunches.

They had me suspended without pay since Tuesday, a widowed mom of an 8 yr old .Sometimes things are not fair in life, and I should not have been terminated over a couple cups of coffee that I paid the 16$ back over 2 months. I I also ask them if this was a problem why didn’t you stop this two months ago. why couldn’t I get some kind of warning before getting terminated.So many questions come to mind

There is better things are on the horizon. This is made me stronger and a better person because of all of you. Thank you for “All the support.” I wish you and your families all the happiest holiday season!!
