I'm asked a lot "Are you doing okay?" and I'm going to be honest now.
I'm not.
We've been struggling for years now, trying to live on about $2000ish a month. I became disabled around the pandemic - I have four autoimmune diseases - Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's Syndrome, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. It has stopped me from being able to work, but I've been denied multiple times to get disability through the Social Security Administration. I'm on my third application with them - but there's a long wait period for responses, Kentucky is no exception.
In the meantime, there are still bills to be paid, there's still rent due, and there are still groceries to buy. We apparently make too much for more than maybe $14 of food stamps - and the waitlists for things like Section 8 is around a year (We're on it now, but yeah).
We were lucky enough to have an understanding landlord, but we're finding the end of his patience I'm afraid - we received an email today stating we need to come up with a payment or he's going to start legal proceedings.
If there's any you can spare, I hate asking for anything - let alone during the holiday season - but I don't know where else to turn anymore. Anything is a help, please. Because I don't honestly know what else to do anymore.
Thank you
Nicole
