Show Brett some love !

Hello! My name is Jane and I am raising money for my brother Brett. He last sat hit his arm on pool slide ladder. he said it was very painful an had swollen a good bit. Sun afternoon he seemed disoriented an unbalanced an it looked like it had turned into cellulitis so we took him to the lil hardeeville hospital and they gave him fluids, antibiotics then sent him home. They had outlined the swelling area to keep an eye on, well Mon morn it was even more swollen. One of my daughters work for a surgeon so she put us on his schedule for his 1st appt available. Time he walked in, he called hospital an had him admitted, ordered a cat scan an had a plastic surgeon friend of his check it out. CT came back not promising, we had to have a room an looked at arm an immediately took him for exploratory surgery.

He said what the CAT scan showed sure wasn't what the arm looked like. So *Necrotizing Fasciitis* had developed and was eating away his flesh. He had to have surgery Monday night Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Thursday night and Thursday night had got it to a point where he could put a wound VAC in. He will do another surgery Monday to see if there is any more dead flesh, and to clean the bandage and change out the wound vak. From the wrist down should be normal and from the shoulder up. All the middle will be skeletal like. His arm will be very deformed but he will have use of it. Dont know how much at this point only time will tell but it will never be 100%.

We have a long road ahead of us. After he get flesh eating disease under control, he will then try to rebuild what's left of the arm the best he can.

God is good an does answer prayers. Thank God for such intelligent Dr's. and there immediate response. It is his right arm and he is right handed so it is a double wammy. After 5th surgery last night, Dr said things are starting to look better. He will have another surgery thursday eve an will be here at Candler at least another 3 wks. Just taking one day at a time. I will keep u updated as I can. Thank everyone for all the prayers and concern.
