In honour of Mrs Taylor’s son Michael
Beschermde donatie
My name is Andrew Cheng, and I am the Vice President of the St Ives North Public School Parents and Citizens Association.
It is with extreme sadness I deliver this devastating news to our parent community that our School Principal's son, Michael, aged 37, passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. The St Ives North Public School P & C and school community are deeply saddened by the devastating news.
Michael Taylor was a dedicated and outstanding teacher, having followed his mother into the profession. He taught at Elanora Heights Public School and was much loved by his students and peers. Mrs Taylor was incredibly proud of Michael, and she constantly referred to him as the ‘light of her life.’
As you may be aware, Mrs Taylor started as a classroom teacher at St Ives North Public School many decades ago. She circled back to SINPS as the School Principal in 2016.
During her time at our school, she has helped countless children achieve the best version of themselves and has led the school to become one of the top-performing public schools in NSW.
Her love for our children can be seen in the playground, the school corridor, the pedestrian crossing and throughout every corner of the school.
Mrs Taylor is not just excellent at her job but is also a devoted parent. She volunteered at Michael's school P and C, when he was still a child and took up the role of its President, helping their community and public education. She lead and inspired Michael to do the same; he had become an excellent and well-respected teacher before his passing.
The objective of this go-fund-me campaign page was to provide relief to the family and a practical way for people to show their appreciation for the contribution Mrs Taylor and her family have made to the community. However, Mrs Taylor has indicated that she would like the funds to be fully donated to polycystic kidney disease research at the Royal North Shore Hospital. And we will be doing so in remembrance of her son Micheal Taylor.
