Show Adam some Love

Donation protected
Our friend Adam could use our support. For those of you who have had the honor of calling Adam a friend, you know as well as I do what a kind and joyful spirit he has. His smile lights up a room. His enthusiasm for life can make something as simple as a trip to the grocery store transform into an epic adventure. Whether you needed a hug, a laugh, or a bite to eat, Adam would be there for you, no questions asked. I'm grateful to have known Adam for over 25 years now. We’ve shared a lot of good memories. But in the past ten years, I have to admit it’s been tough to bear witness to the many painful experiences Adam has had to face and overcome. From losing his parents unexpectedly and experiencing bouts of homelessness, to nearly losing his life in a brutal assault that left him partially disabled and in chronic pain due to nerve damage, Adam has faced a lot. Though I’ve witnessed times get very dark for Adam, he never lost his indomitable spirit, nor his quickness to smile. Despite the immense challenges he faces, whenever we talk he always checks in to see how I’m doing first. Caring more to hear about my life and show me love and support than to talk about himself.

Over the last few years, Adam has built himself an awesome little cabin off-grid overlooking a valley in northeast Washington. It’s a peaceful place I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a few times. Low overhead and sustainable. A place he can call home. But as he works through getting the medical care he needs, finances have been tight. A blown tire and some maintenance expenses he cannot afford at this time have left him without a viable way to transport water from the community well to his home. With winter only months away, this is devastating to his way of life.

I know that if we all pitched in just a bit, we could help Adam overcome this hurdle. We can set him up for success as he focuses on getting the care he needs to heal and thrive in the beautiful home he’s made out there in nature.

So, if you share a fond memory with Adam, if you wish you could give him a hug or buy him lunch to let him know he is loved, I encourage you to use this fund as a way to directly lift his spirits, just as he has at so many times throughout the years lifted ours.

Much love to all of you. And as the bumper stickers Adam once made to hand out for free say…

“Have the best day of your Life!” ❤️
