Show Aaron our love

Hi, my name is Vanida and I had the fortune of meeting Aaron during Covid… We were in ICU, and he was helping me move a patient. I had never seen him before, and he didn't fit in with what you expect to look like in Pierre, South Dakota (I know you know what I mean… ). But, gosh, his personality just radiated and he just clicked with me. Aaron is the first person to jump in if somebody needs help. He's a big heart that he's willing to give to his friends that become his family, no matter how many times his has been beaten on. He's quick witted, sarcastic, and absolutely wonderful.

Aaron has jumped over many medical hurdles in this last year, and was suddenly struck down with another hurdle this week...

Aaron woke up for work on a seemingly normal Thursday. He about pitched forward onto his face because he was unable to stand from left-sided weakness and numbness. He went to the hospital via EMS, and was diagnosed with an ischemic stroke, a vitamin B12 and D deficiency, low magnesium and phosphorus.

Aaron works at the department of corrections, after working at Avera for many years. You've probably seen his face in urgent care. You've probably had him take care of you or your loved one with gentle, but deft, hands. Aaron also is the owner of Fur Affairs, a dog grooming business. You probably had him take care of your fur babies (if you haven't, you really should though).

However, because of his left sided numbness and weakness, and with him being left-handed, he is no longer able to safely run his dog grooming business. Currently, it's unsure of when he will be able to return to the DOC. Aaron is going to need our support as he tackles away the mountain of medical bills that will be accumulating as well as the loss of income from both of his jobs in the next few weeks as he tries to regain enough strength to go back to doing what he loves.
