Skydive for Shout UK & the Leishmaniasis Advocacy Network
Donation protected
On July 12th, I will be taking the plunge and skydiving to raise money for Shout UK and the Leishmaniasis Advocacy Network.
Last year, I was diagnosed with Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (in simple terms, a flesh eating parasite). The disease, treatment and lack of knowledge has had a huge impact on my mental health and without the support of my partner, mum, family and friends, I would not have gotten through the challenges.
The Leishmaniasis Advocacy Network is a patient advocacy group, with the mission to develop a worldwide network of advocates and researchers, driven toward the common goals of Leishmaniasis elimination. When diagnosed, I reached out to the network and since have received amazing support through my journey.
Every 53 seconds, someone texts Shout for support and has a conversation with them that could save their life. Shout is a free, confidential, 24/7 text support service for anyone in the UK who is struggling to cope. My mental health has been at its worst over the last 12 months, and I know how much a conversation can make a difference.
Any funds raised will be split evenly between both organisations to help support their amazing work!
*Transactions will be posted as evidence*
