Help Michele Build Back

As a long-time salon client and friend of Michele Longhurst, I am alerting our community to her immediate need for help paying accumulated medical bills and for cash to purchase reliable transportation. Michele is known to be generous with her time and talents in support of others and now it's her turn to receive our help.

Michele's sole source of income is from the hours she generates in her independent hair salon, The Velvet Chair. Medical debt she acquired during 2019 went unpaid during the pandemic months when her salon earnings were extremely limited and she became ill. More recently, the effects of long-term COVID, pneumonia, sinusitis, and injuries from two accidental falls reduced her work hours and compounded her medical bills. She is struggling to both keep up and catch up.

To add insult to debt, illness, and injury, Michele's vehicle has repeatedly failed in the past three months, stranding her in the country and complicating her salon schedule. As of this week, she has an opportunity to purchase an affordable used car for her twelve-mile commute to and from work.

I propose a goal of $10,000 to help Michele pay down her medical debt, purchase the car, and build back her pre-pandemic earning capacity.
