Throughout this global health crisis, healthcare workers everywhere are being asked to take on extraordinary levels of responsibility in being our front-line defenders against the coronavirus. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals are putting themselves in harm’s way and making significant personal sacrifices to keep us all safe.
While we are all being asked to do our part to help by respecting social distancing guidelines, there is even more we can be doing to make a positive impact on the daily lives of our healthcare workers. If we can take even one thing off their minds, we can help to reduce the stresses and burden they face.
The time and energy to prepare their own healthy, nourishing meals is a luxury that many of our healthcare workers simply don’t have right now.
This is where we all come in to make a positive difference.
McNally Gervan LLP is proud to be partnering with Pi·Rho Grill in this initiative to provide delicious, healthy, and nourishing food to Ottawa’s frontline healthcare heroes.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
100% of funds raised go to Pi·Rho Grill to prepare meals for Ottawa healthcare workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis. No administrative or overhead costs will be withdrawn. Donated funds will be managed by McNally Gervan and will go directly towards purchasing meals for our healthcare heroes.
All meals provided have been pre-approved by hospitals for food safety and handling requirements.
Each meal is freshly made at the time of order by corporate chefs and professional kitchen staff at Pi·Rho Grill.

WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL DO
Curious to know how far your donation goes?
· $10 buys a meal for 1 healthcare worker
· $50 buys a meal for 5 healthcare workers
· $100 provides meals for a team of 10 workers
· $500 will be dinner for a small emergency department
· $2,000 provides meals for a small COVID Ward for a week

WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
McNally Gervan’s immediate goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000 to provide nourishing meals to those on the front lines. We have contributed an initial $5,000 to get the ball rolling. We will also match the next $5,000 in donations to reach our goal of $15,000, and we will be inviting our friends and colleagues in the legal community to contribute whatever they can.
We are launching this campaign by delivering meals on a weekly basis to various Covid-19 affected departments of the Civic, General and Riverside campuses of The Ottawa Hospital. Our hope over the long-term is to broaden this fundraising effort into the greater community to ensure we are able to provide meals to healthcare workers on a regular basis over the duration of this crisis.
We will be providing ongoing updates about this campaign and its reach as we move forward. The more money we raise, the more healthcare workers we can help!

We have enormous respect and admiration for health care professionals and workers, because we have some understanding of the challenges they face even in normal conditions. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, we know that these challenges have been multiplied and heightened. Every hour of every shift, and every day of this crisis, Ottawa’s health care providers and hospital workers are stepping up, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that will be impossible to repay.
At McNally Gervan we are doing what we can to recognize the health care workers on the front line and are trying to support them in some modest way. We have therefore partnered with Pirho Grill to provide delicious, nourishing meals, freshly made each day and delivered to healthcare workers during this difficult time.

Pi·Rho Grill is an Ottawa-born, fast casual concept offering wholesome Greek & Mediterranean cuisine. We specialize in “build your own” custom bowls & wraps and are firmly committed to providing healthy meals sourced from high quality ingredients with an emphasis on sustainability and a preference for local suppliers. We are passionate about providing True Food to Ottawa residents and businesses from our 3 locations in Centretown, Barrhaven and Kanata.
We are thrilled to be partnered with local law firm, McNally Gervan who created this GoFundMe page and have generously donated $5,000 (and will match up to $5,000 more!) towards supplying frontline health care workers with healthful, delicious Pi·Rho meals, delivered directly to area hospitals. These meals are made from scratch by our executive chef and the Pi·Rho team.
On behalf of everyone at Pi·Rho, a heartfelt Thank You to all essential workers who remain on the job risking their health for the sake of ours. Thank You to McNally Gervan for launching this program, we are honored and humbled to be a part of it.

THE BACKSTORY
The lawyers at McNally Gervan LLP have been giving back to the community wherever they can since the firm was founded in 2012. This has come both through ongoing financial support of multiple charitable causes and fundraising events and several of the firm’s lawyers generously commit their time to serving on the Board of Directors of various local organizations that give back to the community.
The initiative for this campaign to bring food to front-line health care workers came to life when Greg Gilhooly (partner at McNally Gervan LLP) approached George Plagakis (founder of Pirho Grill) to see if they could form a partnership for this joint effort.
When the firm was located on Waverley Street in downtown Ottawa, just minutes from Pirho’s Elgin Street location, Greg decided to check it out for lunch one day. It wasn’t too long before Greg was going there almost every day for lunch, and bringing all of the firm’s lawyers and staff with him. The fond memories of those daily meals that were filling and healthy, and offered great variety of fresh ingredients, made Pirho the natural choice for McNally Gervan to partner with.
