Hi, I’m Stefani, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to support a woman in my neighborhood, Liz, and her beloved dog, Sky.

I first met Liz just over two years ago. She was homeless at the time, standing outside a nearby shopping center with a tiny puppy by her side. I’d often stop by to bring her water, food, and treats for Sky. A few months later, I was relieved and happy to hear she had found housing.

Recently, I saw her again in that same shopping center. We caught up, and I asked how Sky was doing. She shared that while she’s still housed, she’s currently in the waiting phase of her disability claim and struggling financially. Her biggest worry? Making sure Sky gets the rest of his shots and a checkup.

Sky, who’s just shy of two years old, is Liz’s world. When I asked what he means to her, she said:

“I bought him from someone when he was just a month old. He means the world to me. He’s my training service dog. He’s everything to me. I know he knows I love him. He keeps me laughing.”

As a fellow dog mom, I know the stress of wanting to give your pup the care they need when money is tight. I’ve been there—and was lucky enough to find resources. Liz isn’t asking for much—just a little help to make sure Sky stays happy and healthy.

All funds raised will go directly toward Sky’s vet visit. He’s already had his initial vaccines, but he’s due for his yearly shots, a general checkup and a years supply of flea / tick medicine. Anything beyond that will go toward his food—and if there’s anything left, I’d love to help Liz cover some of her utility bills while she waits for her disability decision.
