I was the head brewer at Elk Mountain Brewing for almost 3 years. During that time I had the great pleasure of knowing and having a friend Shannon Madruga. She was the brightest and happiest person I had ever had the pleasure to work with. We even won a GABF silver medal together. 

We learned 2 days ago that Shannon was not doing well and in the hospital on life support. She is 33 years old. That shouldn't happen. 

During the time I worked at Elk mountain I also had a distinct pleasure of knowing Mike Madruga, her husband. They were family to me. They offered to watch my child, dogs. When I had to keep my child in a play pen in the tap room, Shannon helped change my daughter’s diapers. We had a great family there. Tom and Marcia Bell, Jamie Gibbs, Morgan Forsyth, Liam Mcfarlane, and so many more.

So that's why Morgan, Jamie and I are starting this goFundme.

 

We know that Shannon wouldn't want people downhearted, sad or depressed about her situation.
