Shot and Shattered: Help Benny Heal

Help Benny Heal: From Abandonment to Hope

Benny was cruelly shot multiple times and left to die in an orchard south of Avenue 12 in late April. Both his front legs were broken, and his back foot was broken. He could no longer walk, but somehow he fought, crawled, and survived until help arrived. He was in excruciating pain, too weak to cry out or defend himself. Warning: The photos, x-rays, and videos are disturbing.

But Benny’s story doesn’t end here.
We rushed him to emergency care, where he was stabilized, treated for shock, and given fluids. He’s now receiving regular vet visits, bandage changes, and preparing for a critical procedure to remove bullet fragments and possibly insert pins to stabilize one of his legs. The other front leg may still require amputation if it doesn’t heal.

Friendly little Benny didn’t deserve this. But with your help, he can heal, find a loving home, and learn to trust again. At Bowe’s Animal Rescue, we find, fight, and care for many dogs like Benny. The injured, abandoned, and homeless dogs of Madera, CA — dumped in rural orchards, fields, and neighborhoods. Please donate today to give Benny the second chance he so desperately deserves. We have helped over 400 dogs in 7 years. We count on your help to continue.

His medical needs are ongoing and costly. Every donation goes directly to Benny’s care and support, with any remaining funds helping other future dogs just like him.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for standing with Benny, and with us to help our many unwanted and homeless animals. We are a registered 501 © (3) nonprofit. EIN # 83-0893385
