Shoshana's Fall: Help Her Get Back on Her Feet!
Donation protected
Shoshana Parry, beloved teaching artist, ceramicist, friend, and vital member of the Fairfax community, experienced a devastating fall and badly broke her leg in two places, requiring extensive surgery. Shoshana has been the main support for her family and is facing mounting medical bills and complete loss of income for the foreseeable future. She has provided so much love and care to students, customers, colleagues and others and now she needs our help.
In Shoshana’s words, “On April 17th, while doing some much needed spring cleanup, my life changed and it only took a second. As I pruned a tree in our front yard, I fell and broke my knee. It was so fast, so unexpected. The branch I was leaning on broke and a fraction of a second later I was on the sidewalk. I knew it was bad and I felt like an idiot. The upshot is a rather serious break through both my tibia and fibula, right across the wide plateau just under my knee. Ugh!! Now I’m pinned and plated back together but I have six weeks of NO weight bearing and then a further three to five months of limited activity. Everything stops. No part time work at Good Earth, no making ceramics, no teaching, no wholesale work to stores, no Open Studio – no income. I know this will pass but it will take time”
Shoshana is always so positive and radiant, even when facing serious challenges. Funds raised will literally help Shoshana get back on her feet and back to doing what she loves. Thank you for your support.
