I wanted to share something I’ve been working on for a long time—my short film, A ‘Short’ Film. This is a project that’s really close to my heart, and I’m finally taking the leap to make it happen.

This isn’t just a film about representation—it’s about something I think a lot of us can relate to: how social media shapes the way we see ourselves and others. It explores the way we curate our identities online, compare ourselves to others, and get caught in a cycle of feeling like we’re never enough.

I’ve been developing this idea with my co-writer and lead actress Athena Burton since 2018, and in many ways, writing this script helped me learn how to tell a compelling story. Now, I’m excited to bring it to life and showcase my abilities as a writer and director.

Synopsis

Jordan, a 26-year-old woman with dwarfism, spends her days doomscrolling, comparing herself to influencers, and feeling invisible in the real world. Frustrated by how people perceive her, she impulsively creates a dating profile under a fake name, carefully curating her photos to appear “normal-sized.” When she unexpectedly forms a genuine connection with Micah, an earnest and charming guy, she finds herself trapped in a lie that’s growing out of control. As their relationship deepens, Jordan is forced to confront her own insecurities and the emotional toll of living through a screen.
