Help us Fund a Short Movie about GUN VIOLENCE
Hi There! Thank you for coming to our GoFundMe page!
- We are the ‘gobro production’ team: Oleg Blinov, Terry Kaelber and Albert Rudnitsky and we’re making a movie about the devastating impact of gun violence.
Why is it important?
Mass shootings happen in the U.S. with horrific regularity. During the first four days of July, there were 11 mass shootings across the U.S.. During the first six months of 2022, there were 309 mass shootings according to The Gun Violence Archive - 309 in just 26 weeks. This averages to a numbing 11 mass shootings every week - nearly 2 every day!
How have we gotten here? Are we – as a society – becoming desensitized to the impact these mass shootings have on us? If we could feel the horror these shootings inflict on the families and communities directly impacted, might we, as a society, muster the courage to do something to stop this carnage as other countries have?
This is personal...
My name is Oleg Blinov and I have Russian-Ukranian roots. Givin’ what’s happening to my countries these days I’m the first to stand against gun violence. We wrote this story based upon the grief that any sorts of violence cause, especially when it’s been used against civilians and children. This is our personal voice against any wars, inhumanity and cruelty. Unfortunately, in the US we have Indisputably weak gun laws that make guns too accessible — that’s why today as never before we must jointly shed light on this problem to hopefully avoid these tragedies in the future.
Our film is called “Desert of silence”.
Synopsis: This story takes place in the provincial city ’N’ somewhere in the middle of the US a week after a cruel massacre occurred in the local elementary school. Vapid days turn into a deep torture for gun shop manager Shane. The mass shooting takes his young brother away, but nobody knows that it was Shane who sold the gun to the killer.
What happens to the film once it's made?
Our goal is to be selected for A-list film festivals around the world (Sundance, Tribeca, Cannes, Raindance and more), so that our film will be seen wildely! A victory at these festivals will guarantee our participation in The Academy Award competition.

Who are we?
We are an independent film production community that was established in NY in 2020. In the few years since, we have released a wide range of works: documentaries, music videos and short films that were warmly accepted and rewarded at film festivals around the world. Carrying Russian film and theatre school as a background, we share a new vision of storytelling that is culturally unique in the American market. And when two different cultural approaches collide, together it creates a delicious cocktail of creation.
