Short Film - Sublet - Fundraiser

Dearest Friends & Family,

At any point in the last year, amidst the encroaching signs of armageddon, I wonder if your thoughts drifted to Jordan Dashner. Perhaps you mused– what is that silly fool up to?

As most of you know, I’m currently living in Toronto working as a commercial film Director– you can see all of my greatest hits here (http://www.jordandashner.com/). I’m very grateful for my progress over the years and for the many people who helped get me here. Advertising has allowed me to practice my craft and have some fun. My goal has always been to Direct long-format narrative work like television or feature films. Preferably really weird stuff. But before anyone lets me do that, I need to prove that I can do it. An awkward Catch-22.

One of the best ways to do this is to make a short film and enter it into film festivals. To that end, I’ve been writing a script for the past year with a friend named Kris Bertin, an accomplished author in his own right, who has several published short story collections and graphic novels. And now, after countless rewrites and obsessing over the smallest of details, we are finally ready to shoot it. It’s titled Sublet and is about a troubled young kid who tries to steal a life for himself by breaking into someone’s apartment.

The very not fun thing about filmmaking is that it is an expensive process. So yes, dear friends, I am contacting you today for some sweet, sweet cash. I have been saving to get this done correctly, but I hope to raise $10,000 more. Every little bit helps, even if you throw some coffee money my way. With your support, we can ensure that the film gets the right locations, the best actors, and a finely polished, professional look.
