Short Film : SEEKING LTR

Hi! Never thought I'd be crowdfunding but here I am...

I even made a video. That's coming up...

I'm Dawn Brooks Macleod & I really enjoy screenwriting. I've written 5 features and 3 pilots and a few shorts. I love satire and dark humor, like DEAD TO ME and INGRID GOES WEST. But my day job is VFX and Animation, which I love too. But it's time to make something!

I wrote SEEKING LTR after watching FATAL ATTRACTION in 2020 - - it's my modernized take on the prologue before Glenn Close SNAPS! I'm fascinated by what her relationships were prior to Michael Douglas; an accumulation of shitty relationships, bad timing and terrible men, I'm sure. I wrote this as a feature but realized I knew the perfect actress to play this role (cause she worked on my last short). So I shrunk it down and now we're making it a Festival Short!!

We're asking $12,000 and we're paying everyone on the Cast and Crew and using legal counsel and insurance. We're also prioritizing female crew and diversity. And we'll be Covid Compliant (and those tests aren't cheap!)

We will be shooting 3 days in mid-August in different areas of Los Angeles. And we are aiming to have a rough cut to go to Festivals as early as Sept 5th. Yep, fast and furious!

I'm really excited to make this short and share this journey! It was a lot of fun to write and I know we'll have a lot of fun making it.
