Short Film on OCD Awareness

I was inspired to write a short film about OCD after experiencing firsthand the lack of awareness and understanding about this condition. Through my own journey with ERP therapy and connecting with others online who also struggle with OCD, I realized how isolating and misunderstood this disorder can be. The misconceptions surrounding OCD often cause real harm to those who live with it, and I want to challenge those ideas through storytelling. OCD is not just about quirky habits or tics—it's about real people who suffer deeply, and that's what I hope to portray in my film.

As an MFA Acting student, I’m working with a crew of fellow students who are generously volunteering their time. The funds raised will help me provide meals for the crew, create realistic sets like a psychologist’s office and a college bedroom, and compensate those lending us equipment. I also hope to set aside some funds to submit the finished film to mental health festivals, so it can reach a wider audience and help spark important conversations about OCD and mental health.

To everyone considering supporting this project, thank you for taking the time to understand neurodivergence and what it truly means. Your support is a step toward greater inclusion. This film is based on my own experience with OCD, but there are many others facing different, often debilitating, forms of this condition. Spreading awareness is my new mission, and your help makes it possible.
