Short Film on Breast Cancer Prevention

Hello everyone,

I am a passionate film director and founder of the independent film company "Cliffs Films", which I established a couple of years ago. I believe making films is a powerful way to share significant content with the audience, not just to entertain. I have worked as a 2AD and script supervisor on feature films and directed several advertisements, music videos and short films. My latest project, entitled "Ten to Six", focuses on breast cancer prevention and aims to raise awareness about this vital topic. I need your help to bring this important film to life and reach as many people as possible.

About the Short Film

“Ten to Six” is a moving story set in the UK about an old man named Sam, who has spent his life burdened by guilt for not doing enough to save his wife from breast cancer. After 35 years, he believes he may have finally found a way to redeem himself, sparked by a strange conversation with a young waiter in a quiet café.

He eventually finds a way. However time travel has strict rules and that travel takes an unexpected turn.

Why This Short Film Matters

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Survival rates are very high when breast cancer is detected early and when treatment is available. Unfortunately, 50 to 80% of breast cancer cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, making the cancer more difficult and expensive to treat and often incurable. This is why prevention is crucial in reducing the percentage of deaths caused by breast cancer. So I would be very happy to promote this message through my short film "Ten to Six".

My Goal

I am seeking to raise £10,000 to cover the production costs of Ten to Six. Thanks to the funds raised so far, I have secured the three actors, the venues, and part of the crew. We are set to begin filming in May 2025. However, I still need support from donors to reach my goal, allowing me to ensure—even if minimal—the right compensation for those making this extraordinary project possible.

per chi non mi conoscesse, sono un regista e porto avanti il mio lavoro con grande passione dall'età di 10 anni. Ho fondato la mia piccola casa di produzione indipendente "Cliffs Films" un paio di anni fa quando mi sono trasferito a Londra. Ho lavorato come assistente alla regia per importanti registi e ho diretto diversi spot pubblicitari, video musicali e cortometraggi, ottenendo molti premi internazionali. Nel corso degli anni ho compreso quanto fare film sia una straordinaria opportunità per condividere messaggi importanti con il proprio pubblico e non solo per intrattenerlo. Perciò il mio ultimo progetto, intitolato "Ten to Six" affronta il tema delicato della prevenzione del tumore al seno e mira a sensibilizzare su questo argomento. Sono qui su GoFundMe perché ho bisogno del vostro aiuto e poter dare vita così a questo progetto che mi sta davvero molto a cuore.

Informazioni sul Cortometraggio

"Ten to Six" è una storia ambientata nel Regno Unito e racconta di un anziano signore di nome Sam, che passa l'intera vita gravato dal senso di colpa per non aver fatto abbastanza per salvare sua moglie, morta a causa di un tumore al seno. Dopo 35 anni, crede finalmente di aver trovato un modo per redimersi, grazie ad una strana conversazione con un giovane cameriere in café.

Perché questo cortometraggio è importante?

Il tumore al seno è tra i tumori più diffusi soprattutto tra le donne. I tassi di sopravvivenza sono molto alti quando il tumore viene individuato per tempo poiché i trattamenti per curarlo, hanno margini alti di riuscita. Purtroppo però, nel 50-80% dei casi, il tumore viene diagnosticato in uno stadio avanzato, rendendolo più difficile da trattare e spesso incurabile. Per questo motivo la prevenzione copre un fattore determinante per ridurre le percentuali dei decessi causati dal tumore al seno. Io, con "Ten to Six", sono perciò felicissimo di poter dare il mio piccolo contributo a questa causa.

Il mio obiettivo

Il mio obiettivo è quello di raccogliere £10.000 per coprire i costi di produzione. Con i fondi raccolti finora ho confermato i tre attori, le location e parte della troupe. Siamo pronti a girare a Maggio 2025 ma abbiamo ancora bisogno del vostro supporto per poter garantire, anche se minimo, un compenso a chi sta rendendo questo progetto possibile.
