Short Film "NEMESIS"
Donation protected
The short film NEMESIS captures the story of Nora, who decides to take revenge after the death of her best friend.

Welcome to the project...
I'm a 25 year old student, based in Paris. For my graduation film NEMESIS I am looking for supporters to make the financing of the production possible.
Why do we need your help?
The fundraising is necessary to ensure a high-quality production that captivates audiences worldwide and gives us the opportunity to submit the film to festivals. The budget helps to cover:
- Rights (music, shooting permissions etc.)
- Additional Crew (Intimacy Coordinator etc.)
- Set Design + Props
- Makeup + Costumes
- Logistics (costs of transportation, food, drinks etc.)
- Festival submission fees
Synopsis
The psychological thriller NEMESIS revolves around Nora's revenge plot against her boss, James, to get back at him for the suicide of her best friend, Anna.
The script comprises a multi-narrative story structure that covers different points in time in the narrative.
In the present, Nora is at the police station being questioned by a policewoman about her report of rape by her boss James Simmons.
The narrative takes an unexpected turn when the second storyline is added, which covers the true events between
James and Nora and thus conflicts with Nora's statements to the police.
The third narrative strand finally offers insight into Nora's motives for framing James of an alleged rape. These
flashbacks show how James raped Nora's best friend, Anna, several years ago. Following Anna developed depression and took her own life.
The loss of her best friend and the traumatic experience of finding her after her suicide are the triggers for Nora's quest for revenge, which the audience learns about at the end of the film.
As the layers of Nora's life unravel, "Nemesis" explores her trauma and the resulting dark facets she has taken on in order to enact revenge as she deems fit.
The Crew

As students from different corners of the world, we have embarked on an incredible journey to collaborate, learn, and create something truly remarkable. Together, we will share an extraordinary adventure that will not only shape our careers but also memories that will last a lifetime.
Director's Statement
The story is very important as it visualises the fine line between the search for justice and the pursuit of revenge. The film also raises the question of the "after". What drastic consequences can traumatic experiences entail and what
further actions can follow?
The narrative question that ties the audience to the film is the reason for Nora's accusations against James, which are only fully revealed in the final scene of the film.
The theme of revenge is the central theme of the short film, yet themes such as trauma and rape are also touched upon.
This is done within the framework of the psychological-thriller genre.
The film's locations include an interrogation room, an office and an apartment (bathroom and bedroom). While the office
and the interrogation scenes are presented in cool and light tones, warm and darker shades dominate Nora and Anna's flat to create a contrast between the comfort of the home and the serious atmosphere in the other two locations.
A bright building characterised by glass walls will be used for the office scenes, as the glass walls conflict with the crime that took place within them and yet remained undetected.
An essential aspect of the directing work for this film for me is not to show the key events of rape and suicide directly but to visualise only short fragments and to focus on the consequences of the events.
The flashbacks in the script are limited to a few seconds each and become increasingly longer sequences to gradually reveal more of Anna's fate to the audience and at the same time keep the level of suspense up.
The time frame of my short film project will be 12 minutes.
I perceive this project as very significant as I personally as a film maker see it as a way to bring people closer to taboo topics such as suicide and rape in a visual way and urge the
importance of addressing such subjects.
