Hi!! We’re a team of seven women studying at HvA, joining together to create a surreal, heartfelt short film titled Fledgling. We would love your support in making it real. In our short film, we follow a mime who begins to awaken her true self in a world where every gesture, emotion, and reaction is already scripted.

As she discovers her own voice, she begins to uncover what it means to be yourself in a place that tells you who to be. Inspired by our own experiences as women navigating judgement, self-policing, and the pressure to be “right,” we hope this story resonates with anyone who has ever second-guessed themselves, changed to be accepted, or wondered who they really are when no one is watching.


This film blends surrealism, silence, and fashion to explore the pressures we live with- the ones we’re given, and the ones we give ourselves. We invite viewers to feel the tension between who we are and who we’re told to be.

We’re aiming to raise €2,500, and every cent goes directly into building the world of Fledgling.
